Gold Beyond Your Dreams – The Heather Turland Story of Winning
Life’s Marathon (1998) |
Information Australia, 186p, hardback
Co-authored with Heather Turland
Gold Beyond Your Dreams is Heather Turland’s story – from her
childhood at Sheepwash Bridge, Glenquarry to winning a Gold Medal at the 1998
XVI Commonwealth Games at Kuala Lumpur Stadium, Malaysia.
People who will enjoy it: Everyone!
Available from:
- Try your local bookshop, but they are getting scarce!
- Your local library. If they haven’t got it, ask for inter-library loan.
- www.abebooks.com and other online booksellers.
Raving on:
Heather’s book was the first in a stream of 10 co-authored books that
I co-wrote between 1999-2002.
We lived and breathed this book. Heather’s book is a first class example
of a book that was co-authored with energy and enthusiasm from both sides.
I stayed in a motel in Bowral, Heather and Garry’s home town, and where
we wrote the book surprisingly fast.
I have only three regrets: (1) The back cover should have been the front cover,
(2) the last chapter should have been the first chapter – which was my
fault, and (3) the publisher should have used my title, ‘Marathon Woman’.
Prior to publication, Heather and I read the last chapter to a live audience
at the Bowral Café. The reading, and accompanying music was taped. |
