Risky Business (2001) |
Crown Content, 144p, hardback
Co-authored with Clare Loewenthal
Risky Business is Clare’s story of how she rose above anorexia to do
the thing she most wanted to do in life – write and publish. It is also
the story of the Dynamic Small Business magazine, and small business at large
in Australia today.
People who will enjoy it: This book operates on several levels – there’s
a story about anorexia (anyone hardcore about this subject should track down
The Substance From The Shadow[1996] by Clare). The book is also of interest
to anyone tracking the development of small business attitudes and small business
movements in Australia in the 1990s, and thirdly there is a strong inspirational
component.

Raving on:
Clare and I go back a long time. I was her first editor when she launched
Dynamic Small Business magazine, so in writing this book there was a small
sense of déjà vu.
Two-thirds of the way through writing this with her - I felt that Clare’s
real task was to write a novel. There was a point, when she was confessing
all, when I felt she that she wanted to be Jane Austen. |
