Apocalypse Rider

Bob (1978)

Robert Wolfgramm

Robert – who prefers to cross the stage with at least 40 people (see
Threedom and Apocalypse Rider) - was eventually pressured into making a solo album.

He worked on this album very much on his own, yet it was strangely indecisive:
1. Firstly, it was titled Bob – which neither Robert, nor Genna, nor I liked. We wanted Refugee.
2. And the Bob album as released was the mix that had more moog and less harmonica, which was to us the ‘wrong mix’. Nevertheless, many people enjoyed the album. Its songs are played in churches today.

The ‘real’ album has now been transferred to CD, re-titled Refugee and is the album ‘as intended’.

It is, of course, fantastic and not commercially available.

The cast is as follows: produced by Robert Wolfgramm and Paul Bryant; arranger:
Charlie Hull; Recording engineers: Gerry Nixon, Warren Barnett; Mixing
engineers: Gerry Nixon, Paul Bryant, Glenn Phimister, Doron Kipen; Keyboards:
Charlie Hull; Bass: Jackie Orszaczky; Electric guitars: Mick Reid, Colin Watson;
Acoustic guitars: Mick Reid, Sam Melamed, Robert Wolfgramm; Drums: Ron
Papos; Percussion: Bill Smith; Trumpets: Mike Bukousky, Miles Harris;
Trombone: Ed Wilson; Flute/sax: Graham Jesse; Mandolin: Arthur Bowcher;
Fiddle: Stewart Watson; Mouth harp: Colin Mack; Backing vocals: Michelle
and Lianne Wragg; Handclaps and vocals: Robert Wolfgramm.

Songs: Good Samaritans, Refugee, Man’s A Tree, Thomas’ Song, Emmaus,
Look a Yonder, Carried Away, Born To Die, You Are The Harmony, It Was
News To Me, Bring Back The Good News.

Around this time Robert stopped driving trucks and started studying
towards a PhD. In 1979 he performed at the Christian Newsong Music Festival
in 1979 sharing the same stage as Leon Patillo (Santana), Keith Green
and Stevie Wright. (If anyone has a tape, please contact me.)
