Knight Templar, In A Bar
Tired old angel pick up your sword
Pick up your wings, pick up your Lord
Pay at the bar all that you can afford
At least you’re not all alone
Perhaps you might as well be,
There’s no fire left in your Chief
Pray find your way through danger
Safe pass each corner thief
To hear a word of safety
Would, to me, be fond relief
Maybe it’s time, really time, to go home
It’s time to go home now, nothing is real
Don’t entertain one more turn of the wheel
The dreadful joker is in the next deal?
Touching the mystery stone
The sweepers close the theatre
The barman shuts the bar
The priest, closes those outsized doors
Hey, why not gaze at stars?
An angel touches you and says
Go home now, it’s not far
Maybe it’s time, really time to go home
So one more look at Heaven, one more wink
One more cosmic cornerstone on which to think
One more early fossil, any kind of link
Please say that we are not alone
They may say you come from Fiji
They may say you come from France
They may say you come from Punk-Pop
Or Post-Renaissance
They may say your very birth was
Wrongful circumstance
Maybe it’s time, really time to go home
