Everything’s Up For Change
There’s a quietness about you
You tell me that I’m strange
We’re on the edge of springtime
And everything’s up for change
There’s nothing absent in your kiss
Your touch is just the same
I could so easily carry on
With no grounds to complain
But in a week the magic
Is almost lost in doubt
And the music I was hearing
Is now best done without
The poem I once saw in you
I now see everywhere
And all the love that was ideal
Is limited to care
Will you try to win me back
Or settle in this part?
All the loving functions
Framed in a different heart
Stupidly we’ll struggle
To strengthen up this thing
And while we sit here talking
We’ll miss other people sing
