Hi everybotty, my new book Mythbusters is now published and available at the bookshop near you. I interviewed Jamie and Adam last Saturday for a magazine article and it looks like I will be working on the Mythbusters 2 book early next year.
Ther biggest news is not mine, nevertheless I will tell you about me before telling you important stuff. Robbie and I have moved to Katoomba, where I intend to work on only four things: (1) Mythbusters, as discussed, (2) the Bookplate - the secondhand book shop (Sundays), (3) the Australian Songwriting Association - as lyrics judge, and (4) the Martin Sharp book that I started in 1982.
I have written 100,000 words (about one quarter) of the first draft, and will use this time between homes to do this important writing. Incidentally - my mailing address is PO Box 758 Katoomba 2780. Residential address - 8/122 Katoomba Street. Phone - 4782 1620. The important news concerns Robert Wolfgramm, who is having a rough time with the Fiji coup. As managing editor of the Daily Post which supports the legitimate government, so his staff and friends get roughed up when the military government wants to get physical. Follow this story in the news, as it will change daily. Contact Robert, send him your well wishes - give him courage - poems, quotes. He draws energy from such communications.robertwolfgramm.com
1. My wife Robbie's book Dirty Deeds (with Jeanne Little) was well received and is into its second printing. Jeanne's new bio is out now - and they have plans to develop the Dirty Deeds concept even further. Stayed tuned.
2. My eldest daughter Amber is studying naturopathy, still living in Belligen and writing a book about Olives. Son-in-law Josh has a band which plays locally and you can buy his CD at gigs.
3. My son Joel is constantly exhibiting his pictures and has just had an exhibition at the Blank Space Gallery Surry Hills. It was a sell-out show! Check out his website, follow his regular cartoons in the Newtown Hub.www.joeltarling.com
4. Youngest daughter Zoe is making music, which you can listen to on www.myspace.com/thecreaturelives which is the name of her name - The Creature Lives.
Other than that I've been working in The Bookplate, a secondhand bookshop 173 Pacific Highway Hornsby, owned by Chris and Cat Shelley. I've written some memoirs - so click on that, read all about it, call in,
See ya,
L
PS. Please check out Konrad Lenz and the Lenzmen, the play around Canberra. Maybe they're now called The Spirits of the Dead. www.konradlenz.com
PPS. Don't miss the Owl CD, which you can download. I wrote the words, but you've gotta hear Al Broadhurst's music. Neale Swine on guitar, immaculate production from Nick, deadly guitar from Neale Swine and cover art from Joel - ah, go on, it's different, it'll do you good!
PPPS. The guys who designed the Mythbusters book are Spike Creative - are absolute geniuses - esp Mick Russell and James Weston.
