Tiny Tim

New: Martin Sharp and Zero Communications (Osaka, Japan) have recently released three new Tiny Tim CDs which are worth purchasing.
They are:

  1. Wonderful World of Romance
  2. Chameleon
  3. Stardust.

We are always delighted to hear from people who love Tiny Tim. All enquiries should go to:

Martin Sharp
Wirian
3 Victoria Road
Bellevue Hill NSW 2023

I interviewed Tiny Tim on the following occasions:

• 24 August 1982 (60 minutes) in at the Cosmopolitan Hotel, Sydney
• 30 August 1983 (180 minutes) at Wirian, Sydney
• 6 September 1983 (180 minutes) at the Cosmopolitan Hotel, Sydney
• 4 October 1991 (60 minutes) at the Olcott Hotel, New York
• 4 October 1991 (60 minutes) in a limo, driving around New York and looking at places where he grew up, went to school, was a fan and eventually performed
4 April 1992 (180 minutes) at Wirian, Sydney

Also:

• 29 March 2002 (35 minutes) Tiny’s cousin, Bernie Stein
• 30 March 2002 (60 minutes) Tiny’s wife, Sue Khaury
• 30 March 2002 (40 minutes) Mark Mitchell, a friend who was with Tiny when he collapsed eight weeks before he died
• 30 March 2002 (30 minutes) a man who could open a Tiny Tim Museum in the USA, Ernie Clark
• 1 April 2002 (60 minutes) Tiny’s wife, Sue Khaury
• 1 April 2002 (15 minutes) Tiny’s great producer, Richard Perry
• 1 April 2002 (35 minutes) Tiny’s cousin, Harold Stein
• 2 April 2002 (60 minutes) Tiny’s daughter, Tulip Stewart
• 7 April 2002 (60 minutes) David Tibet, who released Tiny’s Songs Of An Impotent Troubadour

A surprising amount of Tiny Tim’s music has been recorded. I believe there are recordings of Tiny singing at least 3000 songs. This is ironic - given that Tiny Tim is chiefly associated with only one song.

There are many great Tiny albums and compilations. Martin Sharp and David Rowe (daverowe37@bigpond.com.au) are working on them all the time in Australia, and I know that in America there are many who are building archives of television footage, radio interviews and other material relating to Tiny Tim’s extraordinary career.

My favourite album is Chameleon, recorded in Australia (1982). It is worth going to no end of trouble to acquire a copy.

However, I’m sure you will find on the net the hit album God Bless Tiny Tim CD (Japanese pressing).

Another CD worth chasing is the fabulous Tiny Tim Live At The Albert Hall (Rhino – Warner Archives).

Martin Sharp has made 986 Tiny Tim tapes. Here is a list of the 15 live musical tapes that I have made:
